È un grave errore giudicare il presidente Trump con i criteri della classe dirigente di Washington e non tener conto della storia e della cultura degli Stati Uniti. Ed è errato anche interpretare le sue azioni in base agli schemi del pensiero europeo. In effetti, la difesa di Trump del porto d'armi o dei manifestanti razzisti di Charlottesville non hanno nulla a che vedere col sostegno agli estremisti, ma rispecchiano unicamente la promozione della Bill of Rights.
